What customers say about my CV-writing service

It is always very pleasing to read complementary recommendations about my executive CV/resume-writing and unique senior job-seeking services (I also re-write LinkedIn profiles).

Here’s what two customers wrote:

“In a course of few months of unsuccessful job hunt with a CV written by me I didn't have a single job interview. I have requested Mr. Manning's services in professional CV writing. After only 1 month of job hunting with my new CV written by Mr. Manning I had a 100% of success in interviews and I have landed the perfect job in international environment.” Roman Palic

“Darren provided an excellent service in re-writing and structuring my CV, which transformed upwards the rate of response by, I would estimate, a factor of at least three. His understanding of the recruitment process (as it is now, in the current environment) is second to none and this is reflected in his careful and thoughtful design of the CV to give maximum impact to potential employers. He also addresses the nuances / messages the CV sends in the context of the candidate’s career goals, so it is an holistic and consistent document: this means the real candidate and their CV fit together at the interview stage which is critical for credibility. Darren takes the time to talk through your career and aspirations and produces a very powerful and effective first point of contact with a potential employer.” Martin Stephens

Get in touch today to discuss my CV-writing and senior job-seeking services. My CV-writing service costs just £149 (UK) – a small price to pay for a document that can make such a difference to your career and life.

Very best regards,

CV-writing and Unique CV-marketing for Telecoms & Tech Senior Professionals

The global economic outlook remains challenging in most countries and the employment market in Telecoms and Technology is quite slow. In these circumstances it makes sense to consider improving your CV and looking at how you approach job-hunting.

Customers work with me for three main reasons: my extensive global contacts list within the Telecoms & Technology sectors, my deep recruitment knowledge (I have enjoyed a successful senior recruitment career dating back to 1993) and my English writing skills.

Traditional agencies work for - and are paid by - the end employer. They are usually disinclined to work closely with individual candidates. DJMRO is different. Candidates and not end employers are my customers.

Here's what I offer:

1/ CV-writing. I write CVs especially for Telecoms and Technology professionals. My CV-writing service includes a detailed initial phone consultation after which a first draft CV is produced for review and further fine-tuning. How much could a well-written CV be worth to you and your career? My CVs aim to powerfully show-case your experience.

2/ Individually-tailored CV Marketing Campaigns. This is a unique service that will enable you to aggressively target the jobs market and secure interviews and job offers. End employers have no fees to pay and, as a result, senior contacts around the world are talking to me and waiting to receive my customers’ CVs. This service is different from the traditional agency/candidate model.

The service includes:

a/ A new, professionally written CV that sells your experience in a tough economic climate.
b/ Your CV put in front of the key contacts in the companies and geographies that interest you (up to around 200 targets researched and contacted with your CV).
c/ Your CV mailer followed-up by email/phone calls/social media messages.
d/ I will work closely with you for a full year to generate ideas and action to get you interviews and job offers. This will include brainstorming and advice sessions. Customers will also be able to utilize my writing and research skills and contact me anytime with career-related questions and for advice and support (e.g covering letters, handling job offers etc).

Additionally, I promise to take on a limited number of customers in each quarter. This will enable me to really focus on helping these individuals.

3/ DJMRO Career Boost. This is our premier service and includes the following:

a/ A detailed initial interview/career direction guidance
b/ A new CV (service as above)
c/ An Individually-tailored CV Marketing Campaign (service as above)
d/ Intensive interview practice sessions (using Skype video call) with detailed written and verbal feedback
e/ Full career advice and adhoc assistance for a year

We work closely with our DJMRO Career Boost clients, building winning relationships.

Contact me, Darren Manning, today to get started with one of my services: + 44 7772 101 364 or info@djmro.com or via LinkedIn.

CV-writing tips and advice

It is difficult to write a CV that does its job properly: selling your experience to get you interviews. That’s it - a CV should not be an exhaustive list or a complete history, it is a sales document.

Here are some tips:

Message: what is your personal brand? What do you offer to potential employers? Your CV should address these questions in an engaging way. Your CV needs to sell your attributes.

Length: two pages is the preferred length. Recruiters will often read a CV in seconds rather than minutes. Your CV must be brief and easy to read.

Format: keep it simple; avoid unusual typefaces and too much formatting or the design and layout will detract from your message.

Profiles: I like to write a two or three paragraph profile at the top of page one. This is one of the key parts of the CV. You should see the opening lines of the profile as synonymous with an elevator speech – this part summarizes your professional experience and what you can bring to the table in a few lines. The recruiter should be able to establish what you can offer in seconds.

Achievements: these should follow the profile and are a list of three to five professional achievements from recent roles. They may include awards. If possible they should be supported by hard data; money generated or saved, time saved by process improvements and so on.

Then write up work experience in reverse chronological order. Keep it brief. Use bullet points and focus on the use of positive action words and searchable keywords.

Other sections will include education/professional qualifications, personal contact details and possibly systems and technical knowledge where appropriate.

There are many issues to consider when writing a CV. That’s why many people call on a professional CV-writer to help them with this crucial document. My Career Advice company DJMRO offers senior, professional CV-writing as well as two unique careers packages for executive job-seekers; Individually-tailored CV Marketing Campaigns and DJMRO Career Boost. See my Linkedin profile and www.djmro.com for more info.

Contact me anytime to discuss how I can help boost your career. My CV-writing service is priced at just £149 (UK) - a small price to pay for a document that could find you a new role.

How effective is your CV? Free professional CV review

What do recruiters/HR professionals think of your CV? Does your CV sell your experience properly? Is your CV working hard for you?

It’s hard to stand back and critically appraise your own CV; you are just too close to it. For a limited period only I am offering a free CV review. Send your CV to me in March and I will read it and provide you with a critical appraisal. My expertise lies in career advice, CV-writing and senior recruitment and I believe that it is an unusual CV indeed that cannot be improved in some way.

After I have commented on your CV you may then decide to commission me to write a new version. It’s up to you – there is no obligation for you to buy, but if you do my CV-writing service is priced at just £149; a small price to pay for such a crucial and potentially life-changing document.

See my Linkedin profile and my website http://www.djmro.com for more details about the unique career services that I offer.

DJMRO is a new concept in career advice for Telecoms, Technology, Media and Mining executives (and sometimes people in other sectors) and offers senior, professional CV-writing services as well as two unique careers packages for executive job-seekers; Individually-tailored CV Marketing Campaigns and DJMRO Career Boost.

Improve your CV and get more interviews

Making lots of job applications and failing to get interviews? Assuming that you are applying for roles that match your skill-set and experience you should be enjoying some success and if you aren't then maybe your CV is to blame; perhaps it doesn't present you properly. It may, for example, fail my "30 second test": can the reader ascertain what you offer and, broadly, what you have done in your career after a quick 30 second read of your CV? This is important as recruiters, both in-house and agents, may spend just moments reviewing your CV. Many recruiters are too busy to spend more than seconds reading each application and, no offence intended, a few recruiters will not be bright enough to pull out the salient points from an overlong or poorly put-together CV.

There is a simple solution: improve your CV and get more interviews. Here's what one of my customers wrote about my CV-writing service: ""Darren provided an excellent service in re-writing and structuring my CV, which transformed upwards the rate of response by, I would estimate, a factor of at least three." (see this and other recommendations on my LinkedIn profile).

After your initial contact, I will arrange to talk to you to discuss your past career and your future career aspirations. If you already have a CV we will discuss that as well. This initial consultation takes around an hour. I will then produce a professional CV for further discussion and subsequent approval. This is a process rather than a "one-off" writing service and I am happy to work with you through any number of drafts before we reach the perfect CV.
